The trip is approximately two hours long. No experience is necessary but you must be able to swim.

Wear a bathing suit and shorts, a long-sleeved light T-shirt, or socks with the ends cut off to slip over your arms (this prevents chafing on your arms from rubbing on the tube) and something to protect your feet (old sneakers, Tevas, water shoes or wet suit boots work great. Don’t wear heavy work boots, open toed shoes or sandals that may slip off.)  Expect the water to be chilly. Leave all unnecessary items that you don’t want to lose, at home (eyeglasses, watches, rings, favorite hats and jewelry are most commonly lost during tubing.) Bring a towel and dry clothes and to change into afterwards.

Changing rooms and restroom facilities are available. Lifeguards are posted at the second set of rapids (this is the largest set during the tube ride) to assist you if you have an emergency. The rest of the river is unattended and you will be on your own. You will be asked to sign a waiver and release of liability for yourself before tubing down the river.

$20 per ride per person includes the rental of a specially designed river tube, a personal flotation device (life jacket), a shuttle bus ride from the take out point back to the starting point, and all the sun and fun you can pack into your ride. Cash only is accepted.

Just West of Hartford take Exit 39 (Route 4 Farmington) Not exit 39A
At the end of the ramp go straight onto Route 4 West.
Go 1 mile and turn right onto Route 10 North
Go 5.5 miles and turn left onto Route 44 West.
Go 9 miles and turn right at the brown and gold sign that says "Farmington River Tubing" and “Satan’s Kingdom State Recreation Area".

From I-84 East of Hartford
Take Exit 61 onto I-291 West.
Take Exit (Route 218 Bloomfield)
At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Rte. 218 West
Go 6 miles and turn right onto Route 44 West.
Go 10 miles and turn right at the brown and gold sign that says "Farmington River Tubing" and “Satan’s Kingdom State Recreation Area".

From I-91
Take exit 35B (Rte 218 West)
At the end of the ramp, go west on Rte. 218 toward Bloomfield.
Go 6 miles and turn right onto Route 44 West.
